MHS
Thirty years of science, one name to carry it
Toronto-based MHS has published scientifically validated assessments for more than 30 years across clinical, education, public safety, and talent settings worldwide. The assessments had earned trust globally, but the company behind them stayed in the background of its own success.

Products known, the parent brand invisible
Customers knew the assessments, not the company or the weight its name carried across three decades. Four verticals needed distinct identities that still read as one MHS, just as the business itself was shifting from traditional publishing to data-driven technology and platforms.

Listening first, then building the architecture
Before drawing a mark, Ruckus ran a brand audit and distributed 180,000+ questionnaires to buyers and users, analyzing 6,438 responses to shape user personas and an evidence-based direction. The result was a brand architecture that ties MHS to its four disciplines without flattening them, each vertical with its own color and identity under one corporate mark.
Five new logos came out of the system, one corporate mark plus a dedicated identity for Clinical, Talent, Education, and Public Safety, built on shared spacing so any pillar can stand alone or sit under the parent. Ruckus documented it all: brand guidelines, social media playbooks, a PowerPoint template, and a color accessibility review.
One brand strong enough to lead
The MHS parent and its four verticals now share one system of logo, color, and voice, moving the company beyond assessments and into a platform finally known for the science behind them, in every market it serves worldwide today and going forward.
“MHS was a diverse business with a corporate identity and numerous product identities. Ruckus cut through issues and built an identity that allowed us to grow the corporate brand while still maintaining individual brands.”Hazel Wheldon, Chief Executive Officer, MHS
