A landmark, dormant since 1968

Brewers Hill Development Group set out to revive a 1913 brewery on the Allentown waterfront, converting more than 150,000 square feet on 4.5 acres into a working brewery, mixed-use commercial space, and offices.

Ruckus led the venture from the start, planning, soliciting investment, and carrying the brand, digital experience, and film through to a successful sale in 2022.

02The Challenge

Honor the legacy, make the case

The site had sat silent for decades before landing on the National Register of Historic Places. The assignment was to carry more than a century of brewing history forward without living in the past, and to make a dormant landmark compelling enough to draw real investment.

The project needed to read as the natural next chapter of Allentown's waterfront redevelopment, alongside a new entertainment arena, a medical center, and Class A office towers.

03The Work

A name built on the hill

Ruckus built the Brewers Hill identity, tracing the brewhouse's copper cupola into a mark that made the landmark and the logo read as one. The brand carried through brewershilldevelopment.com, where the waterfront plan could be walked before a wall was raised, and into the film "A Landmark, Reborn."

Ruckus also packaged the opportunity into investor materials that framed the protected property inside one of Pennsylvania's most active redevelopment zones.

04The Outcome

Acquired in 2014, sold in 2022

After eight years of Ruckus-led stewardship spanning brand, digital, and investment strategy, the property sold in 2022, closing the venture and passing a revived landmark to its next developer.
